So incase you are wondering how my kids are doing with the idea of adoption…well, in the picture above, they’re actually praying for their new baby. And to be honest, they pray for the ‘new baby’ every day. When asked if they want a baby boy or girl, they’ll say they want two! A boy AND a girl! As of now, Alan and I tell them we’ll be excited for one and if we get two….it’ll be a nice surprise. (We’ve actually opted for a max of two kids. So in reality, two is a possibility.)
Our kids have been amazing every time we tell them we can’t get certain things because we are saving up for the baby to come home. During Christmas, Mikayla wanted to give money to Salvation Army every time she came out of the store. After a few times of doing this, she says “Mommy, do you know why I gave them money? So our baby will come home faster!” Apparently, she thinks every one is raising money for her baby. 🙂 Then, there’s my son, Levi. He’s in a ‘everything I do is because I’m a big brother’ phase right now. For example, here’s a sample of Levi’s recent conversation:
(after hearing Levi burp) Mia: Levi, you burped!
Levi: I burped because I’m going to be a big brother.
Mia: That doesn’t even make sense.
I know they’ll be awesome big siblings for our new little one. Not to brag but they’ve got such generous hearts…they recently gave away a huge bag of their toys to kids in need. I’m so proud of them and super excited to see their prayers answered soon.
