State Capitol

A Trip to the State Capitol

Woke up to my daughter with a tummy ache and not feeling too good. So we stuffed her with saltine crackers and decided to keep her with us instead of sending her to school. Little did she know that our plans were to take a trip to the state capitol today. Rewind to 2013 when we went to the capitol to authenticate our first dossier and guess who wasn’t feeling that well and had to join us? LOL. She didn’t know our plans back then either. What are the odds?

We let our youngest join us too so he wouldn’t feel like he was missing out on all the fun…a spontaneous family fun day! Thankfully Mikayla felt a lot better after a few hours and we were able to head out and complete today’s agenda:

1. Go to FedEx and get passport pics.

2. Stop by doctor’s office and get our signed Declaration of Health forms.

3. Swing by work and have some papers notarized (so thankful for Maurine & Gina)!

4. Back to FedEx to make copies of the notarized Referral Dossier.

5. Head to the capitol to have the dossier apostilled.

6. Back to FedEx to have copies of the apostille and ship.

Don’t let the agenda fool you…we left in the morning and got home at 6:30pm! Craziness! We had to eat lunch while driving so that doesn’t even include a sit down meal. I about pulled my hair out after a few HOURS at FedEx. After a whole day, you’d think everything went perfect, right? And it was….until I noticed that our doctor had signed the wrong names on our health forms. I am signed as the ‘male’ parent. EEK! Bless her heart. We sent everything else so as to not delay the process but we’ll be seeing you again next week doc! 🙂
