So it looks like my verse of the week has now become my verse of the month….and no, I’m not saying that only because I haven’t gotten around to changing it just yet. 🙂
Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.”
Have you ever thought of how peace could be perfect? I mean, I think peace is pretty perfect as it is – never knew that it could get better! When I was thinking about how I would describe perfect peace, I caught myself daydreaming. I dreamt of watching the sunrise on the beach..near still blue waters with the warm sand beneath my feet. But seriously, how often can we go to a place like that to get perfect peace?
And then it hit me of someone who experienced perfect peace in the Bible. In Mathew 8:24, Jesus and his disciples are in a boat and all of a sudden, a huge storm hits and the waves cover the boat. Everyone is freaking out and in the middle of the chaos, they find Jesus asleep!
So here’s my new definition of perfect peace: Perfect peace is when you can sleep soundly through the storm. 🙂 The cool thing is that you and I can experience perfect peace anywhere..any day..by just trusting in the Prince of Peace. Jesus.
