Recently, I made my second visit to the Department of Homeland Security. Alan and I had to get fingerprints taken in order to prove that we are really who we say we are. Apparently, they weren’t convinced with my fingerprints and asked me to visit them again.
Who knew that washing your hands and dishes constantly could cause so much water damage to your fingers that fingerprinting becomes next to impossible? So for the last three weeks, I slathered on thick cream every night to ensure that my fingers would be ready for the second visit.
It made me realize how unique and special God has made us. I don’t know about you but there have definitely been times in my life when I’ve wondered what’s so special about me? And what do I have to offer that’s different from others? But the reality is that there may be so many people similar to us but hear this… there is only ONE OF YOU! God definitely didn’t want duplicates. He was as intentional as he could be when he created me and YOU!
I love the verses in Psalm 139 where it talks about how God formed us and in verse 14 it says “I will praise you because I’m fearfully and wonderfully made”. So the next time you feel down and out- take a quick look at your hands!
