Blessed

Since last October, my family has been planning a cruise…apparently, it’s been on my dad’s bucket list for some time. So in January of this year, we booked our rooms. Our cruise weekend finally came last weekend. It was everything we had NOT hoped for. As my cousin put it, Tropical Storm Isaac decided to grace us with his presence while we were on route to the Bahamas. We ended up staying on a ship (in choppy waters along with high winds) for 4 days with no sight of land anywhere. On top of that, my other half was hit by a bad spell of motion sickness. He was in bed for 2 days!

Needless to say, we’re grateful to finally be on land! Despite our unfortunate experience on a cruise ship, I have realized how blessed I am. I thank God for…

  • his protection
  • our health- especially my dad’s (I totally stressed out about his health prior to the cruise)
  • the sight of dolphins jumping in the waves
  • my two little kids (who are the secret to being bumped up in long lines at the ship and airport)
  • my hubby (do I really need a reason? that would be a whole nother blog) 🙂
  • my cousins who stood in line for hours to reschedule transportation (love hanging out with you guys…you guys are always great sports!)
  • my parents and their siblings who made sure we didn’t forget our Sunday morning service in room 2507 (not even kidding)
  • my little niece who can light up a room by just saying ‘uh-oh’
  • my siblings -especially the memory of my sister-in-law taking a bite out of bread covered in ‘butter?’ aka MAYO!
  • a home to come back to
  • a job that I enjoy
  • and so much more….
