Life can sometimes be like rain. On days you don’t pay attention to the weather, it can catch you off guard and before you know it, you are WET. Your hair is in a frizz ball, clothes are drenched and you can’t see the road while driving. But once it’s over, all is still, the lawn is green, flowers are blooming (yes, it saves you the trouble of watering) and then there’s a beautiful rainbow.
Growing up, we were always told that if we stood out in the rain, we would catch a cold. (I’m sure some of you can relate!) I’ve been thinking lately- I want to be the kind of person that dances in the rain (granted, I may need to learn how to dance first…but I’m speaking metaphorically).
Since the last time I wrote, little has occurred with the adoption (we are still waiting to be matched to another child) but so many things have happened in life. Ethan had his second birthday in May… a rainy day. But we celebrated Mother’s Day, my mom’s birthday, and a mini reunion of old friends- all amazing rainbows in life. I’m constantly reminded to just dance in the rain. So what if we get drenched? (I’ll take my chances with getting a cold.) When it rains, I can always look forward to a rainbow. Besides, rainbows only come after a good rain.
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. -1 Thessalonians 5:18
